Microsoft Tells People Not To Hack The Windows Phone 7

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 has finally been released to anxious customers all around the world, and it has received some pretty good reviews from the people that have got their hands on one of these devices. So it is fairly obvious that people would definitely start tinkering with these new devices, trying to expand its horizons, and they have indeed been successful at that feat. No doubt, that this would indeed irk Microsoft, which would obviously not want this to happen.

The Windows Phone 7 hacking community is already a step forward in this regard. A new, very cool utility by the name of ChevronWP7 has been launched, which is compatible with Windows XP SP 2 and later versions of Windows. The tool will unlock your shiny new Windows Phone 7 so that it can run sideloaded apps, which were initially destined by Microsoft to be only installed by developers. Having the device unlocked by this tool, will allow all users to load non-Marketplace apps on their device. As said before, this indeed does irk Microsoft, which has said:

So it seems like Microsoft knew that hackers would get around to playing with the Windows Phone 7, and would end up allowing people to load apps on their devices that Microsoft would never even dream of approving. So as discreetly as the company could’ve have made their concerns public, they have advised users to use their Windows Phone 7 with any such alterations, and if done so, would lead to making the warranty void, disabling the phone functionality or making the device useless overall.
Would you want to experience non-Marketplace apps on your device, as the procedure of using this tool to unlock your Windows Phone 7 is pretty easy to begin with? let us know in your comments below.
